Computer and Information Science
The Chair for the Computer
and Information Science Department is responsible for managing
staff; planning and evaluating department activities and aligning the
departmental objectives to those of the College and the University.
Candidate should possess a
Terminal Degree (e.g. PhD, DCS) in the Information Technology domain (e.g.
Information Systems, Computer Science); and have qualifications in management/
leadership and educational administration are desirables. At least three years’ experience in
educational administration or leadership

Assistant/Associate
Professor of Computer and Information Sciences
This
position exists within the Department of Computer and Information
Sciences. The incumbents will be
required to: deliver courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels; advise
and guide students; participate in curricula and course development; conduct
student evaluation and play an active role in the research agenda and the
strategic direction of the Computer and Information Sciences Department.
Qualification and Experience
Candidates
should possess a PhD degree from an accredited university in the information
technology domain (Computer Science, Information Systems). Applicants who are pursuing the PhD degree
and have attained the level of ABD may be considered.
All
areas of expertise will be considered; however, applicants with experience in
Information Security as well as in online course development and delivery are
especially encouraged to apply.

Department of Nursing
Two Nurse Educators
The positions
of Nurse Educator exist within the College of Natural & Applied Sciences,
Allied Health & Nursing. The
incumbents will be required to: deliver courses at the undergraduate, post RN
and eventually the graduate levels of the nursing programmes; conduct classroom
face to face and via distance education modalities laboratory sessions; deliver
clinical instruction and supervision to nursing students; advise and guide
students; participate in curricula and course development, student evaluation and
to play active roles in the research agenda and the strategic direction of the
nursing department.
Qualification and Experience
Candidates
should possess the minimum of a Master of Science degree in nursing education
and be qualified as a registered nurse and is considered an asset if possess
post-basic training in midwifery , critical care, accident &
emergency etc. with current related clinical experience ; hold current license
from the Nursing Council of Jamaica; certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation
and have least one year’s teaching experience at the university level.

Department of Public
Health
Lecturer in Health
Promotion and Education or Epidemiology
To provide quality learning
opportunities that assist students in meeting their educational goals and
career aspirations on a semester basis in a Christ-Centred educational environment
in accordance with the philosophy and teachings of the Seventh Day Adventist
Church. Candidates should have a doctorate in Health Promotion & Education
or Epidemiology with training in Public Health Nutrition, and demonstrated
successful teaching experience. Successful full-time applicants will be
expected to teach courses (including courses at the introductory and
intermediate level), provide academic advising for students enrolled in the MPH
program, and participate in school-wide committees
The ideal candidate should have:

Earned
doctoral degree in Health Promotion & Education or Epidemiology OR an Doctor of Medicine Degree
with a Masters in Public Health/Doctor of Public Health with seven years of
teaching experience at the University level
·
A
demonstrated ability to design and effectively teach a graduate level course
·
Experience
working in low and/or middle income countries.
·
An
ability and desire to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary group of
colleagues
·
Demonstrated
ability to conceptualize and carry out research in evaluating health programs.
·
At
the Associate level, proven ability to generate grant funding for such research
is a requirement.
·
Competent
with requisite software such as SPSS, STATA, Epinfo, R, S plus, MathCad, SAS
and other relevant software.
·
Possess
requisite skills and competencies in Research Methodology applied to Public
Health
·
Be competent and knowledgeable in the
supervision of graduate students
