in the College of Business and Management on the Mandeville Campus:
Dean, College of Business and Management
The Dean will report
directly to the Provost/Vice President Academic Administration and be a member
of the Administrative Council. The primary leadership responsibility of the
Dean is managing the college's academic, fiscal, physical and human resources.
The Dean has responsibility for encouraging and promoting excellence in
teaching and research and the use of technology in delivery of offerings. The
Dean plays a major role in developing relationships with businesses, the community,
government and accrediting agencies, and in seeking external support.
Qualifications and
Experience Required
The ideal candidate for this position
should have an earned Doctorate in a
business related field an accredited college or school with an academic record
consistent with higher education and administrative experience including
responsibility of personnel and budgets.
The ideal candidates should have:
- Knowledge and understanding of the
criteria of accreditation agencies, especially the UCJ
- Demonstrated expertise in project
management, planning, budget development, prioritizing scheduled work
assignments and implementation
- Expertise in handling demands and
requirements of senior-level management in higher education
- Effective leadership, communication and
ethics techniques and strategies
- Ability to work in a collaborative,
matrix environment with diverse constituencies, including internal and
external constituents
- Organizational and communication skills
(both verbally and written)
- Demonstrate capacity to build and
maintain academic programming, curricula development and increase external
funding

following faculty positions:
- Lecturer
in Accounting/Finance
The candidate(s) will report to the Chair for
the Department of Business Administration & Hospitality Management. Individual must demonstrate initiative,
strong content area knowledge, and excellent organizational and communication
and pedagogical skills, and should coordinate lectures, labs, tutorials, advise
students and continue to advance professionally.
MAJOR
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Delivers
undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses offered by the College as required,
integrating faith and learning.
2.
Develops,
in consultation with the Department Chair, appropriate course and course
material.
3.
Engages
in research activities, either as an individual
or with colleagues, at a level and quality that will result in regular
publication in internationally-rated Accounting and/or Finance journals.
4.
Undertakes administrative duties as directed
by the Chair.
5.
Represents the College at conferences, seminars,
and on standing Committees.
6.
Promotes the image and reputation of the College
in the wider academic and business communities.
7.
Serves
as the primary supervisor for research students and contributes to teaching
innovation and research leadership.
8.
Prepares
and submits valid semester examinations to the Department Chair for evaluation
and submission to the Examination Council by the deadline stipulated, and makes
any adjustments recommended by the Examination Council
9.
To
engage in other duties appropriate to the grade of the post as required
Education/Qualifications
Terminal degree in Business Administration, with specific
research and/or practical experience in the field of Accounting, or Finance,
and an emerging research track record.
ACCA/CPA and/or other Professional Qualification serve assets.
- Lecturer
in Marketing
The successful candidate must demonstrate
initiative, strong content area knowledge, and excellent organizational,
managerial, communication and pedagogical skills. The incumbent will also plan,
coordinate, and execute promotional activities and continue to advance
professionally.
MAJOR

- Lecturer
in Tourism/Spa Management
Department of Business Administration & Hospitality Management. Individual must
demonstrate initiative, strong content area knowledge, and excellent
organizational, managerial, communication, business and pedagogical skills. The
incumbent will also plan, coordinate, and profitably operate the spa, and continue
to advance professionally.
MAJOR
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Delivers
undergraduate and/or postgraduate

Undertakes appropriate course and course
material development in consultation with the Department Chair.
3.
Develops,
operationalizes, commercializes, and sustains the spa for long term
sustainability.
4.
Engages
in research, either as an individual or with colleagues, to a level and quality
that will result in regular publication in internationally-rated business or
other journals.
5.
undertakes administrative duties as directed
by the Chair.
6.
Represents
the College at conferences, seminars, and on standing Committees.
7.
Promotes the image and reputation of the College
in the wider academic and business communities.
8.
Serves
as the primary supervisor for research students and contributes to teaching innovation and
research leadership.
9.
Prepares
and submits valid semester examinations to the Department Chair for evaluation
and submission to the Examination Council by the deadline stipulated, and makes

Education/Qualifications
Master of Science Degree in Tourism
or Spa Management, or related hospitality discipline, with specific research
and/or practical experience in the field of Spa management, and an emerging
research track record. Professional certification in spa
therapies and techniques or related competence is
an asset.
The incumbent must also have the ability to represent the University professionally and
attractively to the public, generate good human relations with and among the
workforce, and be well acquainted with, the practice the policies of the
University and the Seventh-day Adventist denominational standards, be
knowledgeable of, and committed to the philosophy, principles and mission of
the Seventh day Adventist Church, and give witness to these values in his/her
professional and Christian life.
